Last Tuesday afternoon we attended Cancer Campaign in Suffolk's (CCiS) website launch event, held at Milsom's, Kesgrave. The day was full of different opportunities and information to suit everyone who was attending.
There was a large screen playing images of the website, displays of photographs which were related to their education awareness project, and leaflets providing information about the different opportunities that CCiS offers to residents in Suffolk. Another added extra was the opportunity to try out the range of make-up which is used during their 'It's All About You' beauty workshops.
All the team that work at CCiS were there to ensure that everybody felt welcome and to chat to everyone who came along for the afternoon.
CCiS Ambassadors Bob & Tarina were also there to assist with the success of the event.
As well as all the lovely bits on offer it was of course a brilliant opportunity to be able to speak, listen and learn about many peoples lives which have been affected by cancer. Below is a picture of Sue and Julia with Karen, who were happy to share their experiences.
By speaking to those who have lived through the treatments we are able to find out what services they have used, what they found was helpful and what they felt they needed, also highlighting the fact that the effects of a cancer diagnosis can carry through for a very long time.
CCiS's new website is now live, find it here, www.ccisuffolk.org - why not check it out for yourself and see what you think!
