Dear Victoria

We are thrilled for you that you have made the decision to start a new chapter of life adventures in Wales. We wish to offer huge gratitude to you from all of us at CCiS Caring for me. You have been part of Caring for me since the very beginning in 2009. Over the years you have supported numerous people throughout their experiences with cancer.

Time and time again we are told what a difference the therapy sessions you offer have made. You lighten the load by offering a gentle listening ear and your treatments help to alleviate some of the negative side-effects of medical interventions.

You have always been prepared to go the extra mile. We have appreciated the home visits you offered when clients were too unwell to travel to the Centre. In addition you have been happy to provide gentle, comforting treatments to those in their final days of life.

You truly are one of a kind and you will be dearly missed. Eternal gratitude from us.

With heartfelt best wishes from all of us,

Corinne

PS  Don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what some of your clients have to say:

'Victoria has an excellent way of bringing a smile to clients with her good energy and kind/warm attitude. The complementary therapies were an essential and vital part of my treatment.  They made me feel so well and relaxed that I always wanted to go back. It is such a blessing to be cared for and even more so when cancer is part of life.' Tania

'The sessions have been very refreshing and have helped me no end. Victoria has been brilliant.' Sue

‘When I began complementary therapy I was experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, joint pain and stiffness, fatigue and general malaise. After 4 sessions with Victoria all these problems are much improved. Victoria has been brilliant-easy to talk to, helpful (recommending books to help with anxiety) and the reflexology has been wonderful. It has really aided my recovery and helped me to feel normal again.' Janet

’You have no choice but to relax when in the capable hands of Victoria. To be able to use these therapies during radiotherapy was truly beneficial, feeling so relaxed at the end of the day was a bonus after what was often a stressful time. I know I probably coped a whole lot better because of it.' Christina

Giving back...

Cakes on Sale.jpeg

We are so lucky here at CCiS Caring for me that lovely individuals want to help fundraise for us. Laura raised a whopping £177 through a cake sale at the school she works at. Below is Laura's story and why she felt the need to 'give back' to us at CCiS Caring for me.

"In March 2017 at the age of 43 I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. My cancer journey from diagnosis in March has included numerous tests, appointments, eight rounds of chemotherapy, a mastectomy and breast reconstruction. Despite still needing further reconstructive surgery, my family and I feel incredibly fortunate that I am now on the mend!

I have recently started some acupuncture and counselling through Caring for me.  I have to admit being dubious to the benefit of either of these but both are helping me in my quest to find and adjust my new normal.

I wanted to give something back to the charity so we held a staff cake sale at the school where I work and raised £177. I am hoping to do some more fundraising in the future for the wonderful charity." - Laura

Here at CCiS Caring for me we just wanted to recognise some of the amazing hard work carried out by our practitioners.

We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated, experienced team supporting our charity project. Many of them have been with us since 2010 and within this time they have been providing many different treatments for local people who have been affected by cancer.

One thing that we pride ourselves with at CCiS Caring for me is that we are here when people need us most. In some cases this is after conventional cancer treatments have completed and in other cases it is alongside them. We believe it is really important to provide choice and some control for those dealing with their diagnosis, therefore we aim to work as flexibly as possible.

We are hugely indebted to all the practitioners for continuing to make the work we do possible and providing such treatments with so much care. To find out more about what each of our practitioners does click 'Our Therapists' under the 'About' tab at the top of the page!

With gratitude,

The team at CCiS Caring for me.

Below are some testimonials from individuals that have accessed the services of CCiS Caring for me:

“It took about a year after my treatment finished for me to take up the therapies but I always knew that I could fall back on the help that it provides when I was ready. It is not just the therapy that helps- it’s having time out for you and the freedom to talk in confidence” Roswyn

“Having had radiotherapy on my chest I found I was badly out of breath after treatment. After having reflexology my breathing has improved a lot and I am now able to go upstairs without having to stop.” Brian

“It has been great to access these services now as even 12 months plus post cancer there are underlying tensions and issues and it is reassuring to feel that there are still people to care for me and help me to feel less alone. “ Julia
